Our programs are distributed as "shareware". The very concept of shareware distribution is to provide you with software so you can "try before you buy", and the effort of its developers will be rewarded, too. When you think about it, the opportunity to try before you buy is the ultimate guarantee that the product will be useful and of high quality. When you support a shareware distributor, you support this very concept. Thank you for understanding it.

Monitoring software is commonly used for such purpose as productivity monitoring. Let's face it - employee control is a norm in the corporate world. Monitoring employees' e-mail, tracking their Internet use, logging everything done at keyboards has become commonplace. Employees might complain that they don't like being watched, but, however, employers have grave reasons for doing that.
Company owners are protecting themselves from reputation-damaging scandals, costly workplace harassment lawsuits and data leakage. Besides, employers want office computers to be used for work and nothing else, thus enhancing productivity of employees and strengthening discipline in the enterprise.
Employers are expected to protect employees from hostility at workplaces, so they monitor, say, email messages to spot those who are sending obscene or hateful emails. Software for email monitoring costs far less than a single compensation payment in case the victim sues the firm. Lots of companies can't afford litigation; those who can, don't want it.
Even logging every keystroke is justified if the employees are dealing with trade secrets or some other highly valuable (in a direct sense of this word) information. It doesn't necessarily imply distrust - some companies just won't survive if certain confidential information is lost.
As for the reasons for monitoring web activity, unrestricted Web surfing from workplace computers leads to corporate PCs swarming with malicious software. In fact, lots of these computers already are choke full of various unwanted programs, some of them extremely dangerous.
Discipline concerns can also be one of the reasons of installing monitoring software. Well, if an employee spends plenty of time at work e-mailing friends and relatives or swapping jokes, he or she shouldn't be surprised if boss finds this out - and the boss has all the rights to punish such a person. Business owners want to be sure that office computers are used for work only.
Serious monitoring software products for employee performance control should be capable of the following:
- disclosing and localizing all attempts to get unauthorized access to confidential information with indication of time, date and network workstation that this attempt was made from;
- disclosing and localizing all incidents of information compromise, particularly disclosure or/and modification of information;
- determining the facts of unauthorized software installations on computer systems;
- inspecting computers usage at free time and uncovering the purpose of such usage;
- revealing of all incidents of unauthorized using of modems in the local network by analyzing running applications;
- monitoring of e-mail addresses of senders and recipients as well as contents of e-mails;
- monitoring of all keyboard input and filtering out critical words and phrases, determining the facts of any confidential information processing, disclosure of which to the third party may lead to pecuniary losses;
- determining of inexpedient employment of computers (playing games at work time, visiting porno sites, etc.);
- defining the functioning capacity of computer systems by divisions, daytime, weekdays and so on for industrial engineering purposes;
- other things, depending on the needs of the particular enterprise.
